Codetelligence, Inc announced today the availability of CodePalette™ for PSoC™ Version 1.1, an update providing system software enhancements and support for the new PSoC™ 8C27xxx series of microcontrollers. CodePalette is a knowledge delivery tool enabling embedded software developers to rapidly develop project specific system software code using Cypress (NYSE:CY) MicroSystems' Programmable System on Chip (PSoC) microcontrollers. CodePalette incorporates system software knowledge gained through extensive PSoC embedded application development and presents project configuration selections with an easy-to-use code generation Wizard. The Wizard guides the user, step-by-step, in configuring and generating the embedded system's software framework and peripheral support. Automatically generated embedded software elements such as task schedulers, device drivers and power management policies save weeks of development and testing effort, reducing both time-to-market as well as maintenance costs. CodePalette generated system software is very conscious of the limited resources available in low-cost SOC's. The generated code uses advanced techniques to minimize both RAM and ROM usage. The CodePalette user creates extensible code specifically tailored to his application, supporting all of the configured PSoC device capabilities and peripherals - including support for Serial Ports, Pulse Width Modulators, Timers, Analog-to-Digital Converters, SPI masters and slaves and I2C master and slaves (8C27xxx only).
